This is the second time I ever wore corpse paint. First time was for a Ghost Rider halloween costume.

Fun Fact: lots of people thought we we're related, we're not.

A little more of a "Jack Skelington-esq" design at the time. More teeth. Its not too bad, looking back on it. At the time I was using Halloween store grease makeup, which was very difficult to put on (with just fingers) and would melt over time.

The "Trve Kvlt-ness" of this was intended to be semi-ironic.

We didn't have a band name or logo. Just demos and an album name.

So this building we're in is a little abandoned house that was built in like the late 1800s or something. It's locally known as "The Witch Hut." It's covered in graffiti and is hidden on a hill in some trees and tall grass.

We we're brave 20 year olds. I've tried going there again a few more times in recent years and it's freaky just trying to find the place. Got freaked out hearing sounds that we thought could be an animal or homeless person. It's also "Haunted".

They're not on sound cloud anymore... But they are on bandcamp now as download bonuses for Rise of the Skeleton Army.

One of the very initial ideas was that everyone was going to be a skeleton with different designs for their skulls. Manthing (who was unnamed at the time) was originally not going to talk on stage, so his Skull design didn't have a jaw.
Old Logos/Concept Art/Band Name

Horror / Horror USA
Originally we wanted to go by simply "Horror" But then we heard about Ho99o9 and gave up on that idea. Part of me wishes I kept the name, but Dead Alive has more meaning to me. I tossed around the Idea of "Horror U.S.A" and have an interstate road sign design. like we were "on the road" touring or something.

Choosing the name is tricky. For me there are a few checklists for what I wanted the band to be called.
1. One Word (two words max)
2.Symetrical
3. Legible
4. pointy/angular
5. Has a spooky word in it
6. Is a reference to a cult horror movie (preferably a horror comedy)
7. Is a Lord of the Rings reference
8. Has personal/creative meaning associated with it.
Dead Alive was kind of a "eureka" moment for me.
