OK, so up next is another Death/Thrash project that's called Dead Alive this project formed in Tennessee, US another Death/Thrash band with Dead in the name. This band has unleashed their second offering to the masses and it's full of quite slow and lumbering groovy riffs and sick riffs that are quite awesome too. This album is titled "The Madness of Dr.Ludvig Von Brainmatter" these slow groovy riffs are absolutely ripping and crush all in their path and these appear in the majority of the album. You can also hear some strange sci-fi style ambience and symphonics on occasion too; also there's a specific harmony in Re-Agent that sounds directly influenced from Kreator's Violent Revolution intro harmony and it's a badass homage. When these dudes do speed things up, it's with quick catchy riffing and the occasional tremolo groove as well.
This is FFO: Municipal Waste, Obituary as well as having some Kreator influence at points too.
I kinda wished that they had sped things up at points as they definitely had the potential to expand into more speedy and relentless thrashing territories, instead of sticking to a slow or a mid-paced groove. I would have scored this a bit higher if they did so; this shit though is pretty heavy and it definitely has crushing potential; keep your eyes on this band in the future. Rating: 8.45/10
